Leading French PV actors create PV CYCLE France
Paris, February 6th, 2014 – Leading actors of the French PV industry today announced the creation of PV CYCLE France SAS for the collective management of discarded PV modules under upcoming French WEEE law.
Under the new legal entity PV CYCLE France SAS, EDF ENR, EDF ENR PWT (formerly Photowatt), Urbasolar, PV CYCLE Association, Sillia Energie and Syndicat des Energies Renouvelables (SER) agreed to jointly work on the management of WEEE-compliant take-back and recycling services for the French PV market.
With representatives from different industry sectors, PV CYCLE France will be best prepared to meet the upcoming obligations under the French WEEE regulations. In its leading role of handling end-of-life PV modules, the new entity is expected to submit its WEEE-accreditation request for under WEEE2 soon.
As part of the organizational setting of PV CYCLE France, PV CYCLE Association was mandated to execute the operational tasks of collecting and recycling discarded PV modules as well as managing the WEEE-compliance for French members. The latter includes reporting as well as administrative and financial obligations for companies or persons who bring PV modules on the French market for the very first time.
PV CYCLE France is PV CYCLE’s fifth country representation after Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom and Spain.
