New WEEE Amendments 2025

Starting August 7, 2025, the United Kingdom will require that, when a non-UK supplier sells electrical and electronic equipment into the UK via an online marketplace, the online marketplace operator (OMP producer) is deemed the producer and must meet the associated WEEE obligations.

At the same time, a new dedicated WEEE category will apply to electronic cigarettes and similar devices, with sellers required to provide take-back solutions and comply with new recycling rules for these products.
